After three years building software and financial products to help businesses across the US manage their cash flow with more confidence, control, and better insights, we’re excited to announce that the Tola team will be joining Square.

As part of this transition, the standalone Tola platform will wind down on August 29, 2025. This will be the last day customers can initiate payments through our platform.

What this means for our customers

If you are a Tola customer today, please note the following:

• Our product will remain available with most core features, including ACH payments, through August 29, 2025.
• Credit card payments for bills and invoices are no longer supported as of today.
• After August 29, you’ll still be able to log into your Tola account to download records until October 31, 2025.
• Tola will be completely free to use during this transition period, regardless of your current plan.
• Our customer support team will remain available as usual via Intercom or by email at [email protected].

We’ve always strived for building the best products and putting our customers first and we will continue to do so throughout this process.

As many customers rely on Tola day-to-day to conduct financial operations, we’re providing this time and opportunity to help you transition off our platform with as little disruption as possible.

Why we are making this decision

We started Tola with a large ambition, to do our part to help grow the SMB economy.

We served the community of business owners and operators that are the cornerstone of our communities. The same people who are often still overlooked by financial institutions and products, which makes the day-to-day running of their businesses even harder.

Over the past few years, we wanted to change this. We’ve worked tirelessly to build tools that help these businesses understand their operations better and make confident decisions with less effort. We’re incredibly proud of what our small but mighty team has accomplished, thanks in large part to your feedback and support.

However, we realized that in order to scale our mission faster and help more businesses, we needed a broader platform and greater reach.

From our first conversations with Square, it was clear this was the right next step. Square’s dedication to small businesses, product craftsmanship, and mission deeply resonated with us and has been our biggest inspiration.

Together, we’ll be able to build new solutions to help even more businesses escape the chaos of fragmented tools and manual processes. This partnership gives us a chance to achieve the kind of impact we dreamed of from day one.
